Question How to make static links on apache server?

    Hello,

I'm looking for a name or a describtion how to ask webhosting companies if they offer on their apache server ability to dynamicly change links such as:

    index.php?car=1&id=10

    into links like:

    index/1/10/

Has this something to do with "Configurable Apache Handlers" ?
If, yes then what should it write in .htaccess file to make such a change?

    Thanks for any help )
    goe

I believe this can be done but you trading your error 404. Something like all page not found will be directed to a php script and from your php script you can just using those information being directed and serve content accordingly. I remember I read this somewhere few years ago

Hopefully I can dig out for you the tutorial URL if I have time

I believe mod_rewrite is exactly what your looking for. If your serious about this then you'll figure how to get it working.
