Would like to check whats the CPU utilisation of Snort, and any prob caused by Snort during normal operations?

We use snort on alot of servers, no issues that we can see

Works well. If you get attacked and depending on the attack your disk can fill up quite quickly. Just keep an eye on disk usage.
I use snort but run it on dedicated machines. A sun ultra 5 can handle snort with no problems so I doubt you would have any cpu utilization issues with a newer x86 cpu unless your server is already under a constant heavy load.
Mine is under heavy load peak about 20. Thats my worry, running on Xeon Dual 2.4 Ghz, 2 Gb Ram.
I use it, and have no issues.
