Question What made you choose your current host?

I'm curious why you have choosen your current host over the competition. Explain why without trying to sell their services please, instead make your point about what attracts you the your current host.

I voted for "Price", although none of the options really apply. I found the host by submitting a web hosting request way back when those were still allowed in the normal forums. I received numerous responses, and there were two that I liked a lot. They were identical, pretty much (I don't mind paying a few dollars a month more for service) and I went with the one that responded in a more professional manner and was friendlier. Ended up being cheaper, too, as they charged in Australian Dollars and I'm paying in Canadian

One of the forums I was active on at the time, [H]ard forums, had a couple threads about a member of the forum who ran his own web hosting company. He made a post in the threads and seemed like a smart guy, so I decided to go with them.

In retrospect this was very poor research, but I haven't had any problems so far...

I would have to say overall Support (not just phone) and the network reliability.

While price is a factor I would much rather pay more to be on a good network and know that when things go wrong they are corrected quickly.

Price (or specifically the promise of significant bandwidth for low $) for me but both my sites/servers are personal sites, not e-business or enterprise in any way. If there was something more at stake, I might have chose differently at the time.

Having said that, I'm happy with them and if I were to launch a serious site now, I would give them the business.
