how do routers connected in a mesh configuration continue to function even if some of the routers or links fail?
Doesnt it have something to do with the RIP protocol?
actually, you dont need any dynamic protocal. It be done with static routes as well. However, its commonly done with , RIP, RIPv2, IGRP, EIGRP, BGP, IS-IS (what am I forgeting?)
Anyways, a FULL mesh is described as every router has a direct connection to every other router. We're talking your routers, not every router in the world or anything like that.
There is also a partial mesh. Which to put simply, just means there are redundent paths available.
thanks. I think ive managed to figure it out.
