    blocking a negative link to a domain

    No sure if this can be done, have some thoughts on it but have not tested them yet , but here it is:

    If someone puts a link to your web site page , that you definitely do not want for any reason, for instance if someone wants to point traffic to your site for malicous intention or use your content for a purpose you dont approve of , any ideas on how to block the traffic from that actual link ? any suggestions appreciated . Thank you .

    write a php script to check the referrer, if it matches, add the ip to a intermediate script, then run a cronjob every five minutes to drop all the referred ips in your iptables rules

    Thanks Oopsz just trying to help a friend out who does not have server access , would use your method if possible . Might try this , it should work in a local .htaccess file ? , where the domain with the unwanted link is ratbag.com

    SetEnvIf Referer ^http://.*\ratbag\.com ban
    <Files *>
    order deny,allow
    deny from env=ban
    </Files>
