secure-can.com - How do I find if they are a reseller?

Is it possible to find out if this company (secure-can.com) is a reseller?

If so, can I find out for whom they are reselling?

I did a whois, traceroute, DNS lookup, etc.. but all I found was jumpserver.net stuff, but couldn't find out anything definate.

Is there a trick to finding the "real" info on a company?

    Thanks for any help.

There are a few tricks, like running an ARIN whois on the IP address to see who owns it. Some companies actually own the IP addresses they have, and the true owner of them would show up. Unfortunately for this one, it shows Verio as the owner.

That neither proves that they are, or are not a reseller. They could be a direct customer of Verio, a reseller of Verio, or a reseller of a reseller of Verio. I do not believe that in this case, there is any way to tell for sure.

Maybe you should try writing them and ask.

I hope you find the answer you are looking for.

Just ask them. What does it matter if they are a reseller? I've just done some various checks, and it would appear that they are not resellers.

I agree. Resellers can generally offer a lower price than their main host, and may also offer better support. Take Nocster resellers, for example.

Asking them would be your best bet. Chances are they will not lie (if they are at least semi-reputable). If they do, you probably will not know the difference anyway.

    Good luck!

It doesn't matter since I won't be using them for hosting. I am dealing with this company on an issue for a client right now and I want to know if it is a one-man shop or a "real" company.

    What checks did you do?

I mainly use www.whois.sc to run lookups on domains. It returns a great deal of information about the host, and who actually owns the IP addresses assigned to them.

Give it a shot. You can also click the IP address to do a quick ARIN IP search.

It is a wonderful site. Enjoy it.
