    Sure smells like spam

Normally I think those 'spam alert' threads that pop up every now and then are pointless, but was wondering, do you all think this is spam or a legit deal? I rarely ever get chain letters/fwds, thank God..

Sorry to bother you but I am hoping that you might be able to help me, I found your e-mail address on a chain letter that was sent to me and thought that as your name was on a chain letter you may have other chain e-mail letters (forwards) that you could send to me?

I am doing a project at college regarding the different subjects that go around the Internet on chain e-mail letters and how many people they actually reach, I would be very grateful if you could send me any that you have, absolutely anything and everything.

I would also be very grateful if you would be kind enough to forward this e-mail to all your friends as I need as many as I can get my hands on for the project to be a success.

Your help would very much be appreciated.

Please forward all chainletter e-mails to [email protected]

    Thanks

    John Doe

I can tell you what he is doing. What he wants you to do is give him those chainletters because they could contain hundreds of email addresses. This is why its not a good idea to send a chain letter because it stores hundreds and hundreds of email addresses. I once had a chain letter with about 100 - 500 email addresses.

you do realise that responding to SPAM causes your address to be marked as active which will result in more spam being sent to you
