Hosting website placement ?
I was wondering is it a good idea to place the website where the hosting is offered to a different server than the one where the clients will be hosted ? Or it doesn't matter ?
I'm asking because of the ddos attacks - if some sick man start attacking the hosting website, the clients will be safe if placed on a different server IMO.
What do you think ?
There's people in both camps. IT's up to you.
Hosting on other server:
The main proponents for this says that if your server is ever down, or the network is down, at the least your site is up, and clients can still reach you
Hosting on the same server:
Well, it breeds confidence that you are willing to be put on the same server.
You have to decide for yourself which it is.
What about having mydomain.COM hosted with the clients and mydomain.NET hosted in another server as a mirror ?
This should combine the advantages of the both methods.
Yes. some people do that by having a separate domain for their support site.
I think I'll go this way too
