I have a 10mbps server and after alot of people start downloading from my site, the line gets saturated and everyones downloads get really slow. Is there any way to fix/prevent this from happening?
install a downloading script (php - find one on
www.hotscripts.com ). This could limit the number of simultaneous downloads so your line wont get filled up.
Apache will also limit the per-connection download speed. I believe the module you'd need is mod_bandwidth.

I checked for some good php scripts but i coudnt find any that did that in hotscripts. Also i checked out mod_bandwidth and it seems to be what we need, so i will try that out later. I asked a friend about it and he recommended thttpd. Is that good for preventing line saturation?
