A very cool gift that defies gravity

Verrrrrrrrrrrrry cool. I'm gonna order about 6 of these puppies. It's a great gift to give the person for whom it is difficult to think of a bday or xmas gift.

    http://www.levitron.com/

Click on the second link to watch the video.

The best place to order it is

    http://www.innovatoys.com/Merchant2/...gory_Code=Levi

(second item down on the page)

But don't order it online - they'll gouge you on shipping. Call them with the order.

I just think this is a very cool gift.

I've used several of those before.

Some are a real !@$£#¢€ to get 'floating'. Fun for 5 minutes, then gets boring. Good xmas/bday present though, as you said.

Well, admittedly it is a "novelty gift". But at 40 bucks, it's a Godsend when thinking of some people on my list for whom it is impossible to buy anything that would even raise a brow.

As I said, I'm going to order at least 6 of them in anticipation of xmas 2004.

Yeah like stated before I tried it in physics, and it took forever to get it going good.

Here's a video of one guy who owns one and shows all the things he can do with it. (it will take a while to load the movie)

Yeah but then you would have to be wrapped in metal, and spinning really really fast.

Forty bucks like that s major purchase in my home. I would sooner buy two wooden rules 35C x2 = $0.70 and a length of string, tie them together and you have a genuine hand made Boomerang.

If you are really imaginative and want to impress you can even paint your own designs on the Boomerang.

Can't you just image the fun on Christmas day with your own boomerang. You can spend hours outside in the fresh healthy air, throwing your boomerang, and climbing on the roof of the house and shed and garage, not to mention next doors swimming pool, on the odd occasion, when it didn't actually make it all the way back to you.

If $0.70c is a bit out of your price range, then you can always make a "bull roarer" . For this novelty item you need a heavy duty ruler which should cost abot $0.50 and a longer piece of string. There is an added advantage in that this novelty can be used indoors as well as outside.

You take the ruler and drill a small hole about 25 mm from the end of the ruler the hole needs to be about 8/12 mill wide. In the other end of the ruler you need to drill a hole large enough for the string to pass through. Drill the hole as near as practical to the end of the ruler. both holes need to be centred.
Tie the string around the ruler. While hanging onto the string swirl the ruler around your head. If you have made the device properly it will emit a loud deep pitched roar.

While using this device inside try not to break to many ornaments etc.

This device can also be used as an "attidude adjuster" i.e. hit somebody with it and immediately they will have a different attidute towards you.

I knew I saw that somewhere! Didn't that attract bats or something? Or was that how he made phone calls?

epgs, sure, but it would be much cooler (and cheaper) than paying for those chincy rides at Disneyworld.

webmultitude, cool link. I just sent it to a buddy of mine who owns a segway. That oughta burn him a bit.

Doc, sounds like way too much effort. What's 40 bucks?

No you don't actually assemble them yourself, simply cut and paste my instructions and iclude them in the present, the reciever will be that much more appreciative knowing they assembled the beautiful, unique gift.

You can even say they originated at THe Doctors place in Australia.

Nice find Vito. I think I'll buy a couple myself. I also like the water "stretcher that is offered by one of those stores too.

By the way, how is your mosquito thing working out for you? Does it still repeal the mosquito's? You've had it about a year now as I recall.

Please see my custom title. That should tell all.

Yes, it is indeed effective. I'm looking forward to turning it on in a month or so and having a mosquito-free summer.

Looks nifty, I saw something like that, except it spun hoizontally, and not far up.
