    Webdevinfo.com for sale

We are condsideing selling the site www.webdevinfo.com. Main reason is, we have another site in our network that is nearly identical to it and is getting more traffic.

Webdevinfo gets aroudn 5,000 unique visitors per month, and about 7500 visitors total. Page views are about 35,000 per month. Traffic has doubled within the last few months because we added many new link partners. With more content, this site can really flourish. You won't find many sites of this caliber for sale (the other site in our network similar to it is www.stickysauce.com getting about 20x the traffic).

The site currently sells text links at around $200 per month per text link. We stopped selling text links some time ago on our network, and just started doing this again. This is a very easy way to make money on the site.

Have a look also at www.templatez.com, it's only backlinks come from webdevinfo.com.

We aren't looking for a set price, this is more like a silent auction I guess. PM me any questions or your bid.

Adsense just made it possible to see which site is doing what, and since we own 10+ sites it's too early to tell. Bet on $100/month or less though with the current traffic levels, as I don't think it would be any higher than that.

Excellent Site... now would a reasonable offer be the standard? (12 months of profit?)

    Thanks!

Site isn't making any money because we stopped selling text links is my only qualm with that. If we work out all the deals to sell the text links, we're not gonna want to sell most likely. I guess if we got it to $2k/month at 15 links at $150/month each, we'd sell for $24K though

That wasn't the number I had in mind though, it was a good deal less.

Are you guys just looking for this:
    http://www.9mp.com/webdevinfo.jpg

There's no real way to give full access to awstats without giving the username/pass for the whole site since you have to login to cpanel to see them. I showed the referrals already and here's the link to the daily numbers, let me know if you need anything else.

    Hi,

I would be very much interested. Is the estimated price around $2000 ?

    Just a wild guess.
Please contact me though. I will like to discuss.

No... the site can sell text links for $150-200 per month on it. Sell out 15 links at $150/month and you've got over $2,000 right there. We're looking for at least $7500. We just sent out a blast to a bunch of old text link buyers, we're most likely going to be making that $2,000 per month here pretty soon and won't even want to sell for $7500.

Oops. I thought that you are making $200 in total in text links. Your demand seems to be justified.

BTW, wanted to know. Will you guarantee that your partner sites will keep linking to your this website in future?

Because it seems that to great extent your partner sites are sending good amount of traffic here.

Also, I was trying to understand the value proposition. For 5K monthly unique hits, which does not seem to be very high, why are people going to spend $100-$200 for a link?

    I still remain interested.

If you don't understand text link buying/selling, than maybe this isn't the website for you. The links from the other sites that we own will stay, as long as the links from webdevinfo stay. The other link partners I can't guarantee, but they'd have no reason to cancel the link partnerships. The link partners have all been there for around 6 months, they rely on webdevinfo as much as it relies on them.

    Hi Leif,
You state in your earlier post:
The site currently sells text links at around $200 per month per text link. We stopped selling text links some time ago on our network, and just started doing this again. This is a very easy way to make money on the site.
How many $200 links have been sold since you started again? and why would you stop selling links that were making you $200 a month?

I would like to know that as well.
I just spoke to someone who is also interested in buying.

So trust me, I am not just asking for the sake of putting some questions to you I might just be able to get a deal done and in the meanwhile make some bucks for me.

I'm interested in purchase as well, but I don't know how you think you can easily sell 15 text links (even if run-of-site) for $150/mo each. If you could there's no reason to sell for just $7500.

    Exactly,

One will (at least myself) not mind buying thesite for $7500 if the text links actually are selling for $150 per link per month.

Keep in mind that the site is part of the 9MP network, where a lot of the hits must come from. From the looks of it, since the network is pretty big, it doesn't look like the site gets too much traffic at all if it stood alone. Once it's sold it will no longer get hits from the network, thus greatly decreases in its value.

Also, it's a bit misleading to say that the site could sell text links for $200 each. Even if it was true, donít think itís going to be as easy as posting on forums to find advertisers. It would be a lot less of a risky deal if you have a few advertisers lined up already.

    $0.02.
    Best,

I agree with you Al Nany. However I think the owner will be the best person to tell how much hits the site generates of itself.

Also, As i understand the links from the other link sites (from 9MP network will remain) as long as this site maintains the link.

People buying links from webdevinfo.com will not care how much hits generated. Even webdevinfo.com do not send them visitor, they will still pay.

I'll repeat two things I've said already in this thread.

    1. All links from other 9mp sites will stay as long as the links to other 9mp sites stay on webdevinfo.com.

    2. If you don't know the business of selling text links, this site probably isn't the site for you.

Here's a text link I just sold on another 9mp site slackerhtml.com that doesn't get a whole lot more traffic:

    You've Got Cash!

    Dear Leif Nissen,

[name removed] just sent you money with PayPal.

[name removed] is a Verified buyer.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Payment Details

    Amount: $150.00 USD

    Transaction ID: [removed]

    Subject: Slackerhtml link

Anyway, I think we're going to start trying to sell the text links ourselves (I have found buyers on WHT before by the way) I sent out a blast to past buyers last night and already have a ton of bites. It doesn't look like we'll be selling for that price anymore, we would consider selling with the list of advertisers we build up in the next week, but the price is obviously going to be a lot more. Questioning my credibility further on selling text links isn't going to do anyone any good, so again, if you don't know the business of selling text links, please don't respond to my thread here.

ElrondTwg said it best, no reason to sell for that price if we can sell the links for that much, and we can sell the links for that much. Pang seems to get the idea here too.

    Leif

If you guys haven't figured it out yet, people are paying $150 because the site is PR7 and they want the pagerank. That PR would obviously only remain if the other sites linking to it continue to after the sale. IMO the value of this site rests on its inbound links and whether or not you think they'll stick from this guy's network after he sells the site. It's very hard to get PR7 without other PR7 sites like stickysauce linking to you.

At least this thinking validates the profit potential while it's PR7.. I know I could get $50-100 per link from many web hosts for a PR7, but once you've got more than a couple links on the homepage they're not going to be interested anymore, because the benefit will not be the same (less PR per outbound link).
