I am trying to download Darwin Server but it keep taking me back to Login Page.
I have logged in many times, but it still does not let me download.
Is it because im on a Windows OS.
Also, does anyone know how much resources does Darwin Server ultilize for live streaming.and how many visitors can it cater at a given time.

The Darwin Streaming Server works on multiple platform so it has nothing to you being on Windows.
You might want to ensure that your browser cookie is enabled and also to ensure that your timezone and date and time are set correctly.http://www.batchimage.com - Offering Batch Image Processing and TIFF/PDF Software Solutions

Are you looking for the Mac, Windows or Linux version ?
For Windows, you could try http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/22519
For FreeBSD, you could try

I have no idea since I do not use it. I am planning to use the Microsoft Media Services which comes with Windows 2003 anyways. Sorry about that.

You can also run Real Media HELIX Server which is free for streams upto 1mbs of usage after that you need to license it. It also supports streaming pretty much every media type out there.

LTADMIN
Helix Server was the first thing i looked into but when i asked about the number of visitors it will support. The answers i got was around 3 to 4 at a time. For more, i would have to buy the Helix Universal Server which costs $1,995.
I dont want to use it for Commercial Purposes, I only want to put educational stuff like documentatries, etc.
Further more, i am not able to download the latest version of Darwin Server for their official site.

Yes, Windows Streaming Media Server is part and parcel of the Windows 2003 Standard server, it does no come with Windows 2000 or the Windows 2003 Web Edition though. It is found on the installation CD or in /i386 folder. It is typically not installed by default but you can go to Add and Remove program and install it as part of the Windows Setup.
It is free. You can download the Windows Streaming Media Encoder from Microsoft website. Several 3rd party software such as the one from Ulead supports it natively.
Darwin server is free too but beyond that I am not sure since I have not investigated it.http://www.batchimage.com - Offering Batch Image Processing and TIFF/PDF Software Solutions

The Windows Streaming Media Encoder 9 can work on any system (not just a server) to do the encoding. Your system running Windows XP just need to be using Microsoft Media Player 9 to enjoy the enhanced encoding.

You cannot run a Windows program on a Linux server. Windows Media Encoder encodes music to WMA or WMV (Video) and requires windows thus the name 'Windows Media Encoder'. It will need to stream through a Windows Media Server which runs on Windows.
