    Hyperthreading requirement....?

    Hello,

I would like do we need to use Dual Channel ram to activate Hyperthreading...like the normal P4 2.8 800FSB?

If it doesn't...do we just switch it off in bios because currently i have a computer that is running Dual channel, but I want to add additional ram but is non-dual channel....

    So I need to:
Turn off dual channel and put all the ram in....and the CPU will run hyperthreading...correct?

    Thanks

Hyperthreading isnt just about dual channel ram...

You need to enable the hyperthreading feature in your BIOS. Also, you need to make sure your CPU supports it, it will support it if it is the model C .

    Hi,

In Hyper-Threading Technology the Performance will vary depending on the specific hardware and software you use. See your PC manufacturer for details on specific system configurations and performance.

I think the Hyperthreading is not depends on dual channel RAM.It depends on

    1. OS
    2. BIOS
    3. Application.
