Wouldn't it be better to post a link to the page where you sign up for it. Then you get given a CD Key as well. Or does this not require one?

It won't require one.
My guess is it will expire in 120 days or something, like most microsoft test/beta products.Gone.

I don't have a 64bit processor yet. Speed is great, i'm getting 350kb/s stable. I'm a sucker for free.
I wonder what I will get when I go to the MS security meeting in a little while. (Not that I need it. )Don't look for a way out.

Are you sure this isn't the one that only works with the AMD Athlon64 or Opteron processors?

I'm sure it won't work with our measly 32bit processors.

Welcome! If you have a 64-bit ready PC, you now have the option to receive trial software for Windows XP 64-Bit Edition for 64-Bit Extended Systems via CD or download. Read below about the different options for obtaining the pre-release software, and then use the links on the right to register to order the CD Kit or download product files. Please note that in either case, the pre-release software is time-limited and will expire in 360 days.
Windows XP 64-Bit Edition is designed to address the most demanding needs of technical workstation users who require large amounts of memory and floating point performance in areas such as mechanical design and analysis, digital content creation and scientific and high-performance computing applications.
System Requirements:

256MB RAM
1.5GB available hard-disk space

Looks like their bandwidth is saturated.

Meh, not going to add that to a machine I have to rely on... though it does add an arrow to my quiver when I need to convince the wife soon that I need to start pulling out motherboards, cpu's et.al to make sure I stay up to date.
Thankfully my father-in-law's the same way I am.Former Webhost... now, just a guy.

I have a big hard drive and I also have a big bandwidth pipe. Took me about 20 minutes to download and I was in the shower and getting ready.

I got it even though I don't have a 64 bit. Could come in handy in like 2 years.

360 day trial?
Interesting. I am planning on purchasing an AMD 64 system.
I format once a year anyway, so this is kind of ideal. Or can you only activate this product once?

Just as an FYI to everyone who attempts to download this and get's slow speeds, a little known fact about Microsoft's download system is that virtually anything which is on download.microsoft.com is also on premierdownload.microsoft.com. Simply add the word premier in front of the word download in the URL, and you usually can experience atleast 3x the speed, if not a heck of a lot more. Via the normal downloads URL, I was getting 38KB/sec for the above ISO. Upon switching to the premier download URL, I jumped up to 850KB/sec.
