WHM hostname.
Assume I have a domain abc.com and it got setup "abc.com" at hostname when I got my server (WHM), and I want to create private nameserver, ns1.abc.com and ns2.abc.com. And those nameserver had been setup and pointed to my server IPs.
I put root.abc.com at hostname.
Is that a correct setup? Because I want to let my client update their DNS and point to my server.
Besides, I tried to create an account abc.com at WHM, and I got the error below, is that normal? If not, how to solve it? If did not get it solve, what kind of problem may come up?
error msg:
"Sorry, that domain is already setup (remove it from httpd.conf?)"
I am a student and want to know more about hosting, please advise.Henry

Seems as if abc.com already exists. I would suggest flushing out the account and starting over. However, for the hostname, shouldn't you just leave that as 'localhost'?

You must of attempted to set it up, then 'deleted everything,' and now your going back to re-do it again. You cannot do anything until you remove the domain from httpd.conf. Once you take it out of there, it will let you create an account with that domain.
