Verio is more like a Global Crossing or Level(3) than Rackspace.com. Verio has many datacenters and offers connectivity throughout the US. Comparing them to a single data center dedicated server company seems a but off to me, as they do MUCH more....
NTT commuication is simply the world largest ISP by subscriber counts. They overtake AOL some time 2 years ago. They're the telco in Japan. They provide local phone service, mobile service via NTT Docomo and lots of other service. Basically, they're huge.
NTT/Verio provide very high quality bandwidth (I'd rate them up there with Level3), and they have excellent links to the Far East.
We've looked at them a number of times to add to our mix, but we already have L3 and PCCWBtN (Beyond the Network) who are good over there too, and their pricing isn't particularly sharp for the FE connections we were looking for in the UK.

Hmmm, I wouldn't rate Verio nearly as high as Level(3), especially as a web hosting company, basically no end users on-net, but if you're an ISP, you should be able to get them VERY cheap, they want end users on their network so bad it's not even funny :-)
