Here is what I did

With Cpanel I set up a sub domain, then with WHM I set up an account for the sub domain.

I can FTP to the account, but is doesn't show on the main account at all and the browser doesn't find it at all.

What did I do wrong?

BTW, WHM took the subdomain name and included it after the dot com of the domain name with no / dot or anything else.

Thanks
Bret

Try deleting both the account and sub domain, then try adding it again and see if that helps.

Solved that problem, now WHM just tells me the account is already set up.

It says the usename is taken or the domain is already set up?

Either way, some action will be required by someone with root. (because of cpanel's incompetence in fixing this matter in a timely manner)

If it's 'username taken', the host will have to remove the user from /etc/passwd or /etc/group if it is present there. (which it likely is, if you're getting that error)

If it's 'domain is already set up', it could be in httpd.conf or in /var/named/, your host would have to check.
