Data Center Class Ratings?
Is there any online documentation detailing these classifications? A, B, C, D etc. I've done quite a bit searching on Google etc - but no luck?

Generally speaking, could you tell me alittle about the differences..and what the Classes represent. I honestly have never heard of such a thing.

Uptime Institute (UI) has proposed a tiered classification that is useful for benchmarking purposes.
The UI classification system defines four tiers by availability:

I thought there were ratings that were based on things like:
Could survive a flood?
Could survive a tornado?
Could survive a bomb blast?
etc.

I've seen the occasional mention of Data Center class ratings in a few forums. I think there's a thread on WHT with some other guy asking about them - but didn't get an informative reply.
Not too sure if there are Data Center ratings or not. I recall seeing some Colo providers stating 'We're in a Class C' data center etc...

I don't know. Doing a search for 'class A data center' on Google - second result, shows some guy asking the same. They don't know either.

I have seen the term Class A used in phrases like:
'Datacenter in a Class A Telco Facility' or 'Class A Building' which leads me to believe that the term Class A might indicate the building the facility is in. The best office buildings (or most modern and up-to-date high-end buildings are considered Class A)
Just a guess...
