How to delete php completely in unix?
Seems we've got a virus or something. Recompiled and again and everything, but nothing.
script that used to work just suddenly stoped for no apparent reason.
You don't need to delete. Describe the problem. What OS is it on? Any control panels?
Cpanel 8, unix. session_register suddenly needs to be changed to $_SESSION['auth'] in all script? But in the big 3rd party script like villing etc. It does not go as there may be 100 places to do this, but in small script like 2/3 pages, it can be done. No use.
I say delete the whole junk, then start again. PHP loads dead slow for one site and times out!
'./configure' '--with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs' '--with-xml' '--enable-bcmath' '--enable-calendar' '--enable-ftp' '--with-gd' '--with-jpeg-dir=/usr/local' '--with-png-dir=/usr' '--with-xpm-dir=/usr/X11R6' '--with-mcrypt' '--with-mhash' '--enable-magic-quotes' '--with-mysql' '--with-pear' '--enable-sockets' '--enable-track-vars' '--enable-versioning' '--with-zlib'

If you have already recompiled php before and same results, why dont you try recompiling apache and php ?
Go CPanel and do build apache.
Use make clean utility to remove unwanted library from your computer .Then try to install php.
Hope this will work.
You can do a locate php and then delete them. /usr/bin/php, /etc/php.ini, /usr/lib/php, /usr/include/php, etc.... But actually you only need to delete libphp4.so
Uh, perhaps you could solve it by turning register_globals on for that host?
globals is on. I will try deleting it.
How to install the library? I deleted both php dir. I get this error:
PHP Warning: Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php4/imap.so' - /usr/lib/php4/imap.so: cannot open shared
