How to find who is running mysql queries?
One of our servers is being brought down to its knees (literally) by mysqld. Someone is running very resource intensive queries and the load shoots up to 15.
Is there any way to find out which user or account/website is causing these processes? In top it only shows mysql as the user.
You could try MySQL Control Centre or Administrator, they run on Windows and connect to remote MySQL servers (as long as firewall allows & access prvileges)
If you have shell access, you might want to look at this page of the manual -

Or you could try
mysqladmin processlist was exactly what I was looking for.
I know you already figured it all out, but... thought it was worth mentioning for those that might search for it in the future or whatever
MyTop is another app that's helpful:
Have a try with the following commands.
[[email protected] named]# ps -aux | grep mysql
[[email protected] named]# w
It may be help you to solve the problem.
