    how is servermatrix startup server?

    Just want to know how is the celeron 1.7 startup server with 10mbps link.
    is that server is really fast for webhosting.

    Intel Celeron 1.7Ghz
    512 Ram
    80GB ATA 100 7200 RPM HDD
    1000 GB Bandwidth
    99.9% SLA Guarantee
    RedHat Linux

    whats the difference in 10 mbps and 100 mbps speed.

    whether i can recommend this for dedicated webhosting ?

    Yes why not?

    You can even host off a 500mhz machine.

    10Mbps is 10 times slower than 100Mbps. When you have 100Mbps - that doesnt mean you can download at 100Mbps. It depends how many sites you plan to host, etc. If you have one site, then you could run it off of a P2 with 512MB RAM. If you have 50 sites or lower, 10Mbps would do. After the 50 or slow, you will notice differences, they are minor, but differences nonetheless. The ATA Hard Drive is good, it is faster than the 7200 RPM.
