My host offers the following CMS packages through Fantastico:

Drupal (4.3.2)
Geeklog (1.3.8-1sr3)
PHP-Nuke (6.8)
phpWebSite (0.9.3-2 english)
Post-Nuke (
Siteframe (3.1.2)
Xoops (

I'm putting together an artist community where each member will have a page or pages which they can add some content to:

-- a gallery (thumbnail page(s) linked to larger images, plus possibly video/audio files)
-- a main page describing them and their work

Then the site itself will have the following shared content:

-- forums (phpBB2, yaBBse, and invision are available through Fantastico)
-- Articles / stories
-- FAQs
-- Links/resources page(s)
-- ??? (I don't know what else)

This is not a blog or news site. The main content (articles, FAQs, links) will change slowly (stuff added every month or two) Members should be able to update their personal page(s) whenever they want.

I am experienced at HTML, CSS, and PHP coding. I don't mind spending a couple months getting the site set up just right, but then want it to need virtually no intervention from me to keep it running.

I'd also like to be able to assign a few members as helpers with maybe 3 or 4 levels of power.

I've heard PHP-Nuke is bloated and with the GPL issues relating to them, I think I'll stay away from them. I don't know much about the others, and have never used any of them.

Ideas & suggestions?
