THere was one that someone wa talking about , the chargeback fee was like $1 or something. Are you planning on having a lot? This could be very damaging to you & Visa/MasterCard can actually fine you quite a bit of money.
You should consider ways to decrease chargebacks instead of finding someone who charges very little.
Well that is why you have a good return policy on your website. When you mention chargebacks to any processor - they will cringe & then you almost put them on notice, should they even look at your application.
If you are also afraid of chargebacks because of the "I didn't do it"s, you might consider verified by visa
Statistically speaking, only a -very- small % of our Internet hosting merchants get -any- chargebacks at all on a monthly basis. I'd even go so far as to say that quite a few of them have never received a single chargeback and even some high volume ones only get the occasional chargeback here and there.
Naturally, the more volume you do - chargebacks will happen once in awhile. But I've seen accounts that do as much as $400,000-500,000+ per month with only a mere handful of chargebacks per month.
I'd assume that the most other processor's portfolios follow a similar trend as well.
All that being said - for merchants selling merchandise or services that fall into a much higher-risk category online, such as prepaid phone cards and related items... the probability of getting a chargeback is a lot higher.
Lastly... the big problem with a chargeback is not so much the cost but the blemish it leaves on your processing history. So when you shop around, make sure you really drill down on how chargebacks are handled and what impact they have/don't have with respect to your ability to stay online and keep processing.
