I have several domains at Parava and quite a few customer's domains as well which I wish to transfer before renewal as I now have my own reseller account.
I don't seem to be getting any confirmation of the transfer request, and neither are any of my customers who are trying to transfer their domains.
I did a whois on my domains from within my directi reseller panel and it couldn't find any information for the problem domains. It found information on the domains that I have with directi. Might this be the problem, that it can't access Parava's whois?
As far as I know they were not locked. I need to do this process before next month as the domains would otherwise have to be renewed.
Then check the administrative contact email account is the right one and someone (either you or the owner of the domain) can access to approve the transfer. As you should know, an email requesting authorization to transfer a domain name is sent to the administrative contact email account of the domain name to be transferred.
Looks like directi gave me a refund for the transfer even though I've been in contact with THEIR support over why I wasn't getting the email to authorize the transfer... 10 days after ordering it.
There is no option to lock or unlock within the control panel.
The email address associated with the domain, and all other details of the domain name save for the last name (I decided to use my mother's last name in my reseller account), are exactly the same as those in my reseller account, but they can't transfer it? They can't manually send me an email to verify it or something?
I am REALLY upset at parava / 10-domains right now.
Yes, it's the weekend, but I haven't received an email back yet and this is time-critical. It wouldn't have been time-critical if they'd said it was locked, I would have emailed them 9 days ago to ask them to remove it and then tried to transfer.
THEY LOCK DOMAINS WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION OF THE DOMAIN-HOLDER!
I never authorized the lock, so now I can't authorize the transfer, and neither can any of my customers. This smells of shady business practices. Arrrgh!
If you read the thread you'll see that I was complaining about no reply from directi and much more vociferously. But apparently it is domains-now.us at fault.
Thank you for unlocking the domains.

Please note that as explained to you the whois even at http://www.10-domains.com/Whois1.asp does not show the Admin Contact Email Id for ancientfrog.com and hence we were unable to send you the approval mail.
Moreover, there is another reason for your Transfer process for other domains not proceeding now. And this is because your parent reseller domains-now.us does not have enough funds for domain registration/transfer. Hence, you are requested to either signup directly with us or ask your immediate parent to signup with us.
Well, apparently after I was forced to renew at 10-domains/Parava because of the directi/Parava whois bug they locked the domains AGAIN - without my consent or even knowledge, AGAIN.
The bug has been fixed, when I tried to transfer my domains I did receive a verification email this time. However the domains were locked again after I'd already specifically asked for them to be unlocked.
Now they are asking for my usernames and passwords in order to unlock the domains, although I sent the request from the email address listed in the account for all the domains.
You might not want to deal with 10-domains/Parava... there is still no option in the control panel to lock or unlock your domains, and no notification that your domains have been locked. Sure, locking your domain is a good idea... but it should still be your choice whether to do it or not!
Even GoDaddy has this option and it's cheaper as well.
You still have not answered why this is not in your control panel. Other registrars do not automatically lock domains, it is not illegal for registrars to leave domains unlocked or godaddy would do it, directi would do it... etc. It is illegal to obstruct the transfer of domains to another registrar.
You also know that I tried to transfer the domains last year and was forced to renew when you delayed unlocking of domains that I hadn't been aware had been locked, and the transferee registrar had problems accessing your whois in order to send me the verification email. Are you delaying now in order to force me to renew again?
If you truly must do an extra verification for my account, please call xxx-xxx-xxxx and I will tell you the passwords over the phone, or give me a number that I can fax my passport and other ID papers to.
"Isn't that illegal under ICANN's new policies?" If you did not know, Internic is who obligates us as registrars to lock all domains. You should read Internic/ICANN's policies before making assumptions about how we conduct our business.
If you do not indicate the password, then that makes us think that you do not have it and you are not the real owner.
All it takes is for you to look the info up in any whois and get what email we have on file. You could actually be hacking into somebody else's email account.
Just send us the password on a different (blank) email... and nobody will know what it is about... so nobody would think that that is your password.
*sigh* Does Internic require that domains be automatically locked by the registrar?
I've sent them my passwords since I have heard no reply on how else to prove my identity... so I hope they actually unlock the domains now...
One domain I do not have a password for any longer, so I am completely at their mercy for that one.
I will also be complaining to Internic now since I am worried about the security of my domains in the hands of a company that would lie about legalities and use these kind of delaying tactics...
I'm really worried... some of these are customer domains.
If they unlock the domains and allow me to transfer out I will never complain about them again... I jsut want to get my domains out and get this over with and never personally deal with them again. However I have a really bad feeling about this due to past behaviour.
I have reported to Internic as of yesterday, using their problem form.
Today I received an email reply from 10-domains with their fax number, which was a reply to the email in which I gave them the passwords for 4 out of the 5 domains in question, and a link to a post on the 5th domain that states I've forgotten the password and it will not be renewed unless they believe my identity and unlock it for transfer. (If I was not the owner, that post would have been removed by the other forum administrators by now.)
So I've emailed them as of now asking if, now that I have given them the passwords, they will be unlocking the domains. (Since they didn't mention that at all in their email, only the fax number. *sigh* Masters at delay...)
They've said that the domains are unlocked. I'm assuming that it takes a day or two for the new status to show up at whois (like, whoic.sc or whatever) about that? Because the domains still show up as locked.
Well, I'm currently attempting to transfer one of the domains to test things out. I received the transfer email alright, and directi is now waiting for losing registrar approval of the transfer.
My .org domain (one I haven't attempted to transfer yet) says "Status:CLIENT TRANSFER PROHIBITED" in whois.sc though, which is worrying. Is that normal? Is there some kind of special locking for .org domains?
Still crossing my fingers here. Thanks for the well-wishes and advice, everyone.

Status for .ORG domains should be "OK" instead of "Active", if no lock is set.
