    force download

Some customers need to use large pdf files, but in stead of downloading it only once, they "open it" several times,
Is there a way to prevent users from opening a pdf flie and force the download?

    Thank you!

You could use some Javascript and disable Left button clicking, and force them to use the Right button and "Save to Disk" feature.

That'll force them to download the .pdf to the hard drive.

Please don't do things like this; this is why many users hate JavaScript. Shouldn't the PDF file be getting saved in their browser's cache, anyway? Or does Acrobat Reader handle the download itself, and not cache anything? If this is the case, maybe you could try compressing the PDF files with zip.
