    * Odeon / OdeonWeb PayPal Fraud!

    odeonweb.com

I was attracted to this web hosts cos it was
    1)Cheap
    2)Promised setup within 5 mins.

Paid via paypal, but no news from them, not even an automated email...

No instructions on their website either..

Im a hosting dummy, anyone out there to give advice?

How long ago did you sign up? I have had instances where the customer didn't receive our welcome e-mail because it was filtered out as spam (I really hate that).

If the company you signed up for has a phone number, call them. If not, fire off an e-mail asking when your account will be activated. It's possible it's active already, and you just didn't get the appropriate e-mails.

    What a du....

Some people should stick to fishing and leave the tech stuff to the pros.

Call the people for my sake! I'd be on them like white on rice. Of course, I'd never be in the sitchu in the 1st place.

And next time, don't look for cheapest. Look for most reliable and the lowest price of those. You get what you pay for, why not pay for a reputable company instead of a teenager's "server" space in his daddy's basement.

I'm finished. Sorry if sound a little struck. Just tired of grave diggers practicing rocket science in my back yard. You either get it and your in or you don't and you get out. This guy is going to grow up to be a black eye for web developers who spend time and money to invest on skills for which we have a natural talent for anyways. You know, real coders, not WYSIWYG wannabees. Please don't sell web design service to people just because you found out how to use FrontPage that came with your new computer to put something up for yourself. Some of us do this for an actual living and you could make us look bad to the other non-tech minded schmucks out there.

    I'm a baaaadd boy. I know.

    And who might that be?

you must always do a research about the provider before you order and also you can request almost every host for a trial.
And for your new host, atleast search about him here at WHT before you pay them esp if they are giving unlimited MySQL space.

A word of advice for the post starter - "Cheapest is not always the best."

And in the hosting world, you do have to expect to pay a price for reliability.

Have you actually contacted Stefan yet ? None of your posts suggest you have had any discussion with him.

He's showing as on-line via MSN (09:48 GMT). You're more likely to get your account by contacting him rather than posting here.

If you have contacted him and there's still a problem, then I'm sure we'd love to read about it.

Good old MSN, it was showing as signed in, then when I checked again to send a message to someone else, it then decided I wasn't signed in and Odeon is now showing as away !

I've usually been able to contact him between 20:00 & 23:00 GMT, so perhaps try later.

Looks like he could be back to his old ways though :-(

May I know if there are other authorities I could report this to?

It seems that Im not the first being duped and I dont wish for others either.

Im not from the US, so I need some advise on going about this matter.

I have hosting with odeon web... It was extremely cheap and setup only took an hour.. It was thru a reseller though. Yea, never signup for anythign at odeon without that guy on msn.. Tell him your signing up and he'll have you fixed... They don't have any truth on their webpage to my knowledge.. except the prices.

Well we already solved the problem with dreampotion but our msn is sometimes shows away since we set that up for to be away if we dont use it for a min. Please send a msg even it's away. If MSN is away , no reply to the e-mails then please call us. We have our phone numbers on the website. It's not that hard to contact odeon web. Dont make it seems like it's impossable. Well everything is allright with dreampotion. He had this e-mail change and he didnt get his first welcome e-mail but we contacted him so everything is fine. Again sorry about what happened...

    Dear OdeonWeb,

If youre reading this, please reply,

The account you setup for me has no diskspace. Its useless.

At least, reply my emails with an explanation instead of making me wait and wonder.

    Thanks.

    p.s
Does anyone know if cpanel having problems globely?

Wow, that is really horrible service, get your money back, file a report with PayPal. You've down a good job of disgracing the company through this post already

OdeonWeb REFUSES to reply my mails or refund my money,

Paypal investigated and replied that Odeonweb is at fault but are unable to recover funds from Sefa Gol's account.

Is there a relavent law enforcement agency I can alert this to?
Apparently, Im not the only "customer" he is doing this to...

File a formal complaint with the BBB in your area, and with OdeonWeb's BBB in their area. You could try with the Attorney General in your city and with their city, though they may not get involved if the loss is less than X amount (varies from city to city). HOWEVER, if a complaint is filed in OdeonWeb's city, and several more are filed with the AG in their city, it might lead to legal action on behalf of all customers of this idot.

:ighs:: I wish more people had listened to my original assessment of this clown.
