While theplanet does get good results from Australia why not go direct with a host with servers in Australia? Bandwidth is coming down sharply.

FYI Theplanet gives us the best ping times from Perth (250ms)

Yeah, I get about the same from QLD. NAC I get around 300ms.

i find hosting in australia extremely expensive

    i need about 1GB and 10GB bandwidth

hosting for that is astronomical..unless you can recommend someone..

Depends on what you call "expensive"

Might just try doing a search for ThePlanet and seeing if anyone is listed as appearing there. I've done so myself, but I wouldn't want to recommend anyone in that datacenter that may also have been spoken poorly about on WHT.

Last thing we want is to publicize the poor feedback url's

You could also try putting in a Hosting Quote Request and specify that you would need a ThePlanet-based host. Then just run a traceroute on anyone who does reply to make sure they resolve there (or that their offered server resolves there; remember, some hosts use multiple data centers).

    Hello,

You could also try ServerMatrix's forum: http://forums.servermatrix.com/.

<edit>Now that I think about it, you should also check w/ http://spiritconnect.com.au/. They are an Australian company that I have worked w/ before and would highly recommend. They may have servers in The Planet dc.</edit>

    Good luck w/ your search.
