Available Technical Support / Customer Service position in Connecticut

*** This is not a remote position. Candidate would work in the company office. ***

Our company has a salaried, full-time position available for a technical support/customer service representative. We are a relatively small company in terms of personnel so the person filling this position would be responsible for a variety of tasks. This position includes health insurance (no dental) and a retirement benefits package. Base salary would start at $30,000/year. Our company has been in business for 8 full years, all of which have been focused solely on the web hosting industry.

This position entails phone and email support providing technical assistance by diagnosing and troubleshooting a full range of web hosting related issues. It would also include application support for standard products used in conjunction with web hosting accounts, such as Internet Explorer and Netscape... Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, and other popular email programs, and to web editors such as Macromedia Dreamweaver and Microsoft Frontpage.

The candidate would also be expected to learn and become fully versed in our ecommerce offerings and be able to support clients utilizing the ecommerce solution in conjuction with their hosting accounts.

Duties include: Respond to incoming customer calls, analyze events & information, diagnose cause of problem, and resolve the technical problem, advise the customer. Documenting and log all pertinent call/ticket information (customer info, nature of problem, solution, etc). Follow up on unresolved customer issues.

Should be highly capable of responding to and resolving a broad range of customer requests for problem resolution and service requests in a timely manner.

Work hours would be 9:00am - 5:30pm which includes a 30 minute lunch.

The candidate must have experience with providing technical support and customer service via phone, email, and helpdesk. Linux experience essential as all hosting services are operating on the Linux OS. Technical support experience with the applications listed above would also be necessary.
