help me decide AMD with Celeron

What's the power & performance difference between this 2 machines ?

    AMD XP 2400
    512MB RAM

    VS

    Celeron 1.2
    1GB RAM

Is it 100% more power than the celeron or ... ?
Right now Im using the celeron 1.2 but I'm thinking to use AMD XP 2400 is it a good choice by choosing AMD?

This might be a little overkill, but Tom's hardware provides a pretty decent review of all the cpu's on teh market. I digged through the archives to find the benchmark stats for your procs.

All the information is there...just going ot have to look closely to find the proc you want.

AMD<<< of course, although i never had problems with a celeron i had, but of course an XP 2400 is much better, especially with the Celerons 128Kb Cache , that sucks ...

Oh yeah, and Tom's Hardware did show that the AMD blew the celeron away in all the benchmarks. And I really don't think you want to be serving with something as outdated as a 1.2 celeron my good sir!

Did anyone notice 1 Gb RAM with Celeron vs. 512 Mb with Athlon?

Btw, that Celeron should have 256 kb level2 cache.

Is your site cpu intensive like dynamic database etc, I would then say AMD, I guess if it is pretty much static the Celeron will do, it is a dog of a cpu compared with the AMD.
