It is located in the U of L Information Technology Resource Center, a very impressive complex located in downtown Louisville. The first floor is nice, but it's not until you reach the second floor that you want to drool.
When you first get off the elevator, you see a NOC full of Dell PowerEdge servers, Sun systems, 2U units and more with a great looking console workstation. They make the stock photos on most webhosts' sites look silly. Definitely droolworthy.
ModernGigabyte has a nice office just down the hall from it. I walked in and spoke with a couple of people and had a nice little discussion on the company's history and they gave me a little news on a discussion that they had on being able to support a new version of a major control panel very soon. I'll leave that for them to announce though. I don't know how private that information was to be.
Anyway, it's nice to see the faces behind the company sometimes and it was good meeting a couple of the folks in person behind such a well know software.
Just thought I would share a bit of my experience with the company so far. Kentucky may not always be the first place that people think of when they are talking about technology, but there are certainly some of the brightest in the industry around here and it continually amazes me the amount of resources that we have here in the "sticks".
Originally posted by Coach EKR, do you have a company there in town?
Indeed. I went ahead and added my contact info to my sig (we don't usually do a lot of promoting here).
We actually just recently moved the company to Kentucky from out of state and I have been checking out offices... the ITRC looks amazing, but unfortunately we have already exceeded their <2 year cutoff qualification (or fortunately, depending how you look at it! Longevity is a good thing. ).
I've driven past that building many times and never knew what was inside. In fact I just had dinner a couple blocks from there a few days ago. Our MB support renewal is due next month, so I will see about dropping by there sometime and will try to take a few pics of the place if I can.
