Smile ~~ What do you think -> SELF Promotion? ~~

For ppl starting thread @ the 'Web Hosting Forum', they need to provide their valid URLs so that everyone can see the thread starters' sites are hosted by their hosts...

I dun mind ppl posting recommendations, but I dun want to see anymore ppl asking for URLs right after the recommendations are posted ... It seems like everyone is doing that.

If the thread starters have no URLs posted or do not have any proofs that they are hosted by their hosts in their first posts, then the thread will be removed

Trying to decode what you wrote I agree with what you're saying. If someone posts a thread praising a host, and does not provide the domain/s they have hosted with that host, then delete the thread, or give them time to provide the domains etc.

I suggested this in this thread.

To my knowledge, this is the policy, only it's not enforced.

Persistent problem for sure. I believe all hosting related forums suffer from this. This one more so, because it is so populated.

In essence I agree, it's far better if the user does provide their URL.

However, in many cases where we have doubt over whether the review is legitimate or not and the user wont provide their URL within the public thread, we will give them the opportunity to inform us of their site privately, before taking action over removing the thread.

With the majority of these cases it's normally fairly easy to see who is and isn't faking reviews anyway. It generally follows a pattern and not just one 'review'. The consequences for those who are found to be faking reviews though are extremely severe.

Anyway, certainly an interesting topic for discussion that Yupapa has raised here. Discuss away!

I agree, but not all people want to post their website address to the public (especially resellers).

It wouldn't be fair to say: You can only post feedback on a host if you post your URL to your website

Right , maybe some moderators can do some validations before removing...

Usually those 1-poster members make ppl suspicious~
