Wink What Is The Most Valuable Domain Name In The World?

I'm curious about different people's opinions.

Hmm... in terms of traffic and userbase - and just generally something that would be cool to own, I would say Google.com

... but if we are talking about the actual name itself, I'm not really sure - maybe something like sex.com, com.com, news.com or some other very common word.

I think everyone will have a different opinion on this one

    a long long time ago:

    Business.com was sold for $7,500,000.
Cool.com got a $38,000,000 bit-offer(buy-offer), but the domain owner refused it.

Another way to look at this question, I think:

If you could have ANY one domain -- what would it be?

Maybe he/she was making 1 million a day for owning it (and using it of course).
    Or maybe not.
But if that was the case, he would have been an idiot to sell it.
I'm sure that on these terms you'll agree!
Now I'm gonna check those sites, I just realised I never did!

Even amazon doesn't net profit $1 million a day yet

Although I'm sure there have to be sites out there with a net profit of over $365 million per year.

I say Google would be number one, followed by Yahoo.

I have one great domain name under .com and .net which I registered last week, fits any business model, and very easy to remember. If the right person gets their hands on it they could turn it into something great which could be worth millions, but for now it's worth $50 starting in my auction this coming Thursday, but I might keep it.

bbc.co.uk, cnn.com and google.com would be up there IMO. Much more popular to the masses then the likes of cool.com

Lol, I suppose if someone else got hold of msn.com we couldnt put a price to it

Is it true that all 1 and 2 character domains are reserved? Like it is impossible to register 1.com or a.com - I did a whois search and thats what it came up with

1 letter names are now reserved. However, I believe two letter domains for all gTLDs except .org can still be registered. For the .org registry, all three (or less) character domains can no longer be registered.

sex.com beats any website with any traffic, it needs no promotion and as they old saying goes "Sex sells"

  25. #25
Yea, I would agree with sex.com.

Though if I could have any domain, I think I would go for brad.com (my name )
