Need help with Cpanel backup restore
Need some help with restoring a full backup in cpanel.
Just how do I restore a backup file (full site) into cpanel?
I've just moved host provider and I'm pretty much stuck. each time I tried to restore from cpanel, it just dump everything into another folder at HOME like..
How do i restore all the data into public_html?
if you have SSH, you can use /scripts/restorepkg
otherwise, you can upload your backup file onto your website, then ask help from your provider. Or you can ask your provider help to copy your data from old server to new one by WHM
An alternative is to do a "Home" backup then go to the new Host's server, login to cpanel
http://ip/cpanel if it's not propagated yet or www.your-domain.com/cpanel and do a "Restore" and it will automatically create and upzip all files to the proper folders.

I did that "Restore" from CPanel. but it just dump all the data into a directory like home/backup-3.7.2004_05-24-12_dwok/ and not to the public_html directory.
that's why stump me.
You have to do a "Home" backup again in cpanel and "Restore" it in cpanel using the "Home" backup xxx.tar.gz and not the earlier one that you did the "Full" backup.
Trust me it will work as I have done it ...umpteen times for my clients
yups. i got it.
