    domain name being stolen

I registered a .cc with namecheap.com recently, but 2 days later, when I type my url, it shows that it's available for registered.

Then I try to login to my account at namecheap.com, it shows the following:

For security reasons, this account has been locked due to too many failed login tries. The user name will be enabled after 12/12/2099 EST. If you think this is an error please email us using the same email address currently on your account to have your account enabled.

What can I do now? I email them many times without any reply.

hmm, thats not normal, their support / sales staff usually reply pretty quick. Within an hour usually.

    Hmm enabled after 12/12/2099...

    I agree. . . something doesn't look quite right.

Are your emails to them being bounced?
    Have you Floble'd today?

    not being bounced..............

can anyone tell me what I can do now?

Best options is to wait for a reply. Noone can access your account at the moment so your pretty safe.

Best thing i can think of after you get this re-enabled is to register a new username and push the domain to it.

    hopefully that will help

but my problem is that namecheap.com never give me a reply since Mar 1.

    Seems that they are cheating!

If it's available for registeration ( not registered yet ), and name holds any value to you then register it using some other provider ASAP.

but it costs $250 per year now. When I first registered, it costs only $28.80. I wonder why..... normally a .cc doesnt cost that much!!!

I'd go to your credit card supplier and ask that they query the payment - you paid for goods you didn't recieve.

If email doesn't work, try the phone! I found no phone number on their website, but you could try the one listed in whois. Good luck!

Do not call 911 because your domain has been stolen. Under any circumstances.

    Hello,
We originally locked the account as we suspected fraud as the ip block you logged in from had a high rate of fraud. When we originally attempted to contact you, we could not get through. We have gone ahead and restored your domain for you and unlocked your account. We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding. You will have no further issues with your account in the future as we have flagged it. We also did not charge you for the domain.

Yeea... slow namecheap support. Godaddy + Namecheap + 1and1. The only big benefit is that namecheap accepts paypal, which everybody craves over for some reason.... (you dont have credit card? )

Anyway, wish they had phones cause I have 5 domains with them right now! Still, overall good registrar.

There are better registrars that take paypal.

namecheaps support is bad. Simple issue takes over 2 weeks. I use ev1 and get issues fixed same day.

    DO NOT use namecheap

I would disagree with that caveat. I have over 80 names with Namecheap and I have always had support requests handled same day or next day at the latest.
