I messed up DNS zone files -please urgent help is needed !!!!


I messed up files in /var/named *.db files

I need to restore *.db.bak files but I don't know what command is for restoring and in what format

Please help me . All sites are down !!!!!!!!!!

cd /backups/cpbackup/daily/dirs
tar -zxvf _var_named.tar.gz
cp var/named/* /var/named/
/etc/rc.d/init.d/named restart

It seems that paths are wrong.

I have no this path /backups/cpbackup/daily/dirs

I have second drive for backup. How to switch to this drive from shell

should I try to restore backup from WHM ???

where do you have your backup stored ?

That should be the path to tar file.

ok, you should be fine. there were probably a few you didn't delete.
