I'd rather them get their billing, support, and other processes in place before releasing new models. Until that's done I'm not really interested. In case you're reading, MSG, inc

I'm not sure about them being the biggest oversellers, but they are fairly new and have had a lot of problems recorded here at WHT...

If you care to take a look around these forums, you will see that their customer support has improved significantly, with some people actually saying its better then the likes of SM and Burst now!

Yes they have had a couple of network problems in mid-Jan, all of which have been fixed and their uptime is excellent now. Thier support was bad to begin with but i feel they were simply not expecting the demand. That seems to be sorted out now. Also, people who have never even used managed.com making comments about the state of their service make things look 10 times worse then they actually are

Actually, I was referring to these things in particular:

Their forum (which was going to be installed right after the holidays...)

Their perldesk that has crashed several times, leaving customers unable to get a hold of them

Their strange billing method of paying a separate trade name for cpanel, or the license gets deactivated (not sure if that's a paypal only thing, but anyway..)

I can't comment on M.com's support system, since I have not needed to contact them for a while. However, one small thing on my wishlist is a little communication by means of a mailing list, forum or network status page.

When there were outages back in January, there were lots of different rumours flying around - "They are installing XO line", "They are having DDoS attacks", etc. The 'official' word on system status would be great, plus any future plans - notice when they really will be installing other lines, or when there are likely to be scheduled outages.

I understand they are working very hard on improving service, but a reasonable amount of client communication would make an essential part of great service. Instead of people guessing, we would actually have the facts from the source, it would also help prevent alot of FUD that spreads on this forum.

Hmm, Talk with them, maybe they'll install it for you, assuming you can prove you own the license (photocopy/fax of it maybe?)

Why don't you ask managed? Would they not be the best ones to answer that?

I'mnot trying to defend managed as a personally canceled a server order because of certain reasons - but what new company hasnt had problems?

I wouldn't use one of their servers as a back up solution let alone to put a paying client on.

    But that's just me...

Awesome prices, It made me flinch.

Where are the Old Time WHT'ers. When I hear one of them take the bait, I am in.

I don't think they are HT processors... notice how the HT servers begin at the 2.6 =/

    Maybe they're using the new 2.8A prescott's?

They're supposed to be really cheap, but run on a 133 bus (533 to the intel people )

Well, I also think they are not HT, but still the price is so enticing that can make you forget about prudence. Also that a 100% Uptime server can make a difference of two times the price of the server in terms of customers or ad revenues.

What kind of hosting provider puts their two nameservers on the same network?

    Domain Name: MANAGED.COM

    Domain servers in listed order:

    NS1.MANAGED.NET 66.79.160.1
    NS2.MANAGED.NET 66.79.160.2

Can't be reached currently (so their domain can't even be resolved).

QUite a common industry practice I suppose. A lot of the big ISPs -- even reputable ones like crystaltech do that.

I think they need to fix their network first before introducing new server line.
