No, I have never tried nor even thought about Viagra, so relax cats.
My question is aboot a strange advertising banner for OKservers.com that is being displayed at WHT. It is in what looks to be spanish language. It also leads to a spanish web site: http://www.okservers.com
Not a word in English.
Do you think advertising at WHT really work for foreign companies with English being not their first language? Do we have many spanish-speaking folks visiting the forum?
Invision DS, pretty good if you know the language. I do not reject the fact that in fact some people here do speak Spanish. But what is the percentage of them? Very low. And even if you can figure out the web site, how would you communicate with them down the road? As you said, not really comfortable.
Usually there is only 2-5% max of people visiting the web site from Spanish-speaking countries. It means that over 90% of them - not OKservers target market. Why would anyone spend a lot of money (ads at WHT do not come cheap) here instead of either doing AdWords or sponsoring Spanish hosting catalogs? That's what I'm trying to figure out.
Oh, thank you for the compliment, by the way. TheWorldJournal has been out there for a while and its doing very good.
Well take look at some numbers here: http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/...es/001344.html
Spanish population makes up for 13% of US population, but more important it is growing 4 times faster then the total US population growth. If this trend contuniues and I can see it speeding even more in a future, spanish will be largest population in US in about 20 years.

Altough we are targeting Hispanic/Latinamerican users and we do not know either if there is a significant segment here at WHT, we decided to give it a try, as it happens most of the times when doing advertising.
Having the website in Spanish, didn't make sense to have the Banner in English.
After realizing English Speaking users were getting uncomfortable I'm already looking for a translation service in order to have the English version ASAP... as my bad English looks more like those made from an Online translation service
So if some of you happens to know any reliable Spanish > English translator, it would be very apreciated.
Apologies if Non-Spanish speaking users felt like excluded or something, you all are very welcome too... well, when the english version is ready is gonna get easy then
spanish will be largest population in US in about 20 years.
You know, I think in a way, it works... It sure got my click a couple days back... I didn't buy anything because I am not really looking for a host at this stage (luckly), but if it got my attention, it would've gotten someone else's attention and they may have generated a few sales. Of course, I'd say, for most effective advertising, it'd be great to have an English site with English ads on WHT, and Spanish site with Spanish ads on Spanish equivlence of WHT.
