    Rebuilding Raid Array

    Hi

    i have a fix load around 3~4 and seem that the cause is the Raid,
    it's normal that my server is so slow to rebuild the raid array?

    cat /proc/mdstat
    Personalities : [raid1]
    read_ahead 1024 sectors
    Event: 6
    md4 : active raid1 hda7[0] hdc7[1]
    61368192 blocks [2/2] [UU]
    [===>.................] resync = 19.1% (11766916/61368192) finish=505.4min speed=1633K/sec
    md3 : active raid1 hda6[0] hdc6[1]
    1052160 blocks [2/2] [UU]
    resync=DELAYED
    md1 : active raid1 hda5[0] hdc5[1]
    2096384 blocks [2/2] [UU]
    resync=DELAYED
    md5 : active raid1 hda3[0] hdc3[1]
    4192896 blocks [2/2] [UU]
    resync=DELAYED
    md0 : active raid1 hda2[0] hdc2[1]
    8385856 blocks [2/2] [UU]

    md2 : active raid1 hda1[0] hdc1[1]
    1052160 blocks [2/2] [UU]

    unused devices: <none>

    i have try also:

    hdparm -t /dev/md4

    /dev/md4:
    Timing buffered disk reads: 10 MB in 3.33 seconds = 3.00 MB/sec

    thx

    Yes, some raid arrays take an extremely long time to build. I have had it take over 24 hours. It's probably one of the only disadvantages of mirrored data.
