I would try to contact them again, and also confirm the email you have on file with them is good.

We have had a few times when we were replying to a support request of a client, only to find out they had changed there email but had not updated the support system and were not getting our replies.

This client had multiple tickets under multiple e-mail addresses, the issue was being addressed in one of his many duplicate tickets, he needed to fax photo ID in before shell was enabled, as clearly stated in our TOS/AUP and across our website.

    Thank you,

    Jay

That sounds reasonable since he is contacting you using multiple email addresses.

Glad to see that security is a major concern for Mesopia.

Pretty much par for the corse with mesopia.com if forums and reviews on this site and others are to be belived, however they are VERY CHEAP so when I signed up with them I did not really expect a full service, what do you expect for 10 to 20 USD a month?

However they are trying my patience as well, after complaining for a month about a fairly bad problem I had not get a single helpfulreply or even more alarmingly the techs that replied did show a certain lack of know how, I had spelled out for them why their explanations could not be correct (how can a problem with my ISP in the UK prevent a users in Italy and Germany from viewing pages hosted with mesopia in the USA ? nonsense)

After sending them an Alerta log to support my claims I finally got through to a gentleman at the company that was both helpful and knew what he was doing (one mister Paul) and things got much better, the last time I heard from him he asked me if I was still having problems or if things where OK and since the problems I had experienced where intermittent I sent him a mail explaining that I would need a couple of day's to give him a final answer. It's turned out that
although much improved there where still some (apparently DNS) issues and if he would be so kind as to take a look at them the answer that I got was as follows :
Which in turn leads be to belive that I am not the only customer that is having problems,

Anyway I decided to investigate the matter a little bit more and reviewed the DNS setup on my sites (this is after the mesopia tech claimed to have fixed all DNS errors relating to my account), I did not manage to find the main problem but I found 4 minor DNS setup errors and 2 fairly major ones, I could fix 3 of the minor ones but do not have the accsess rights to fix the remaining 3, for obvious reasons.

In all fairness at the least one of the errors appears to be the result of a bug or even a "design issue" with a WHT script but I really do not care it shuld be a minor matter to resolve this .

I am just publishing on the web for fun and personal grtification, not profit so I am not too bothered about minor outages and problems, I am basically giving Jay one more month to do something about this, but I do wish he spent more time answering customers queries on his own site rather than on message boards like this.

Been there myself with mesopia DNS "residue" problems, reiknir. Finally left after 3 weeks of owner denial and no possible resolution.

Good luck. I hope your experience turns out better than mine.

Try citadelhost, they have reseller packages very similar in strucure and price to the ones that mesopia offers, in fact looking at their webpage they have nothing but reseller packagaes anymore it seems.

    24hostingnow!

    Check out 24hostingnow.com

I've been a VERY satisfied customer of 24HostingNow for over 6 months. And although they are comparably cheap, they actually do have a 24hr support staff that has a clue as whats going on....trust me....I've tried them and used them-they probably are annoyed by me.

Last night I made the investment to upgrade my account after personally discussing with the owner about possible plans and options.

They are also very flexible and do have that genuine sense of support. Although not the largest hosting solution around, they are big enough to provide fast and consistently soild support but small enough to actually get real people who are willing to work with you. So thats my .02$.....its a bit under your requested specs but for the price and reputation I think it stands for itself. Look around the forum....search for them....I doubt you will read of anything bad about there service.

So yea, enough my rave, 24hostingnow and forever (at least the next year).

    Re: "mesopia and bad support"

It is unfortunate when a webhost appears in WHT under the topic label of "bad support" but, apparently, it is sometimes necessary for any action to take place.

I ended up paying for a domain name that never worked properly under a reseller bundle at mesopia. Now I cannot access it to repoint the DNS to a new webhost, and the owner/contact information from the mesopiadomains whois function (as of this evening) is listed as "Jay Higdon" (the owner of mesopia). When I try to use the Member Log-in, I am blocked by the error message: "Incorrect password, or account suspended."

DNS resolution and limited access to mesopiadomains led me to search for another webhost. Ironically, I was charged for the domain name but still do not have access to it. I emailed the mesopia support desk again two days ago and immediately received two bot confirmations but no response from a human. No resolution forthcoming.

Why would an active member of WHT continue with such curious practices? Why not resolve the issue instead of prolonging the perception of bad support?

    Hi Jay,

As you know, I emailed you again about this issue two days ago. I look forward to your prompt attention to this matter.

Since mesopiadomains charged me for this name over 6 weeks ago, surely it should not take more than a couple of days now to push it over to my enom account. As an enom reseller, I would guess that you could do this just as easily as you did for sagmoh.

Providing this kind of basic service and follow-through could go a long way toward addressing the mesopia support issues noted here and other WHT topics.

Thanks in advance for your prompt response,

    Tom

It's amazing what public scrutiny can do to grease the wheels of action. Thank you WHT! And thank you, Jay Higdon, for your WHT response to these very important issues of service and support.

I hope to see access to my domain name in the very near future.

    With regard,

    Tom

I wouldn't say it 'greased the wheels of action', your open support ticket on this issue failed to provide us with the most vital information such as you wanting this domain transferred to eNom and also what your eNom username was.

I was happy to help you get this domain moved to your eNom account and wish you the best with your new webhost.

    Thank you,

    Jay

I'm having a considerable amount of difficulty with mesopia at the moment as well.

I signed up for two accounts, about two weeks ago, and neither is working as it should.

I've started two support tickets regarding the issue, but the support has been less than supportive, or effective at resolving my issue.

The only response I get back is a link to an irrelevant mesopia forum page, or a single line of condescension from Jay.

And that's only one of the tickets, I've yet to even receive a response on the second ticket, nothing in three days. wtf?

There is a 30 day money back guarantee, right?

I too signed up with Mesopia, but so far it has been pretty smooth. I did have some issues with a double charge on my CC, but Jay took care of it.

I must admit that the ticket system Mesopia has lacking. Not sure who checks them. I always get support in their Forum, since Jay is always online.

Remember, that you get what you pay for. If you want a larger, well manned, company you pay the full price for it.

    Overall I can't knock Mesopia.

As I and many other have stressed before, never, ever, register your domain with your hosting company unless you are positive all rights/logins are in your name
