    modification template (?)

Very new to the reselling game...

I have a friend that wants to move his site onto my hosting space.
The current domain registrar won't simply transfer the nameservers to my name, they keep saying that I need to send a modification template. What is that?

What do I need to do to get this site on my space?

Who is the registrar? and what extension is the domain?

Most general registrars should allow him to login to his account and make the changes or just make a simple request to them by email, some country domains though are a real pain when it comes to making DNS changes and do require all sorts of forms and information first, .com.ar domains for example are a nightmare

It looks to me like your question is confusing because you dont know what it is that you really need.

Q 1.) Are you moving a Domain Name or are you moving Name Servers?

My guess is that your just trying to transfer/point a Domain Name.

Q 2.) Do YOU have Name Servers to transfer/point this Domain Name to? Maybe your host does?

I would think the later. Speak with your present host about the situation. They will let you know where you stand as far and Name Servers go.

(....modification template? hmmm sounds like the old netsol process.)

centralhost - the answer to your first question is yes. I am just moving a domain name.
Secondly - yes, I have my own nameservers - but it has not got as far as this.

This domain in question is just a .com domain but the company that is hosting the site/domain at the moment are being (I think) very difficult about this.
I don't know whether the hosting company are the domain registrar as well. I know they (web site owner) just recently moved to the 'problem' hosts recently so would they have tranfered the registrar of the domain to them? (is this possible?)

It is possible but that's probably not the case.

Do a whois and find out who the Registrar is to begin with. It will be shown on the second line. If you can't go from there come back and ask for help here. Someone will help you out.
