General Service Agent First Stage
Comp: Salary negotiable. Benefits available.
Type: Part-time and full-time.
Location: Palatine, IL and Northwest Chicago-land.
midPhase is a customer-service focused company. The key to our growth and our continued success is to continue our commitment to our clients. With that said, midPhase is searching for individuals that are technically savvy with the UNIX, Red Hat 7.3/9.0/Enterprise Linux 3.0 operating systems, Cpanel, Load Balanced Servers, and other technologies used in web hosting. midPhase uses a proprietary billing and accounts system, and will train to a certain extent on how to use our internal systems.

Report directly to the customer support manager of midPhase.
Explain technical issues to customers over the phone.
Answer occasional pre-sales questions via telephone or E-mail.
Submit trouble tickets on behalf of customers to Second Stage support team.
Document server outages and/or interruptions in service.
Answer low to mid-priority tickets and direct them to the correct people.
Complete orders for added services and/or products after receiving billing confirmation.
Take orders via telephone and enter them into our system.
Bachelors degree in network administration, computer science or CMS or equivalent experience.
At least two years experience with customer service, technical support or sales (not necessary hosting related.)
Strong computer skills, ability to type in excess of 25wpm.
Understanding of Microsoft Office XP and Microsoft Windows XP.
Strong social skills -- must be able to explain complex technical issues to customers over the phone, as well as explain charges and take orders.
Knowledge of server hardware and general computer hardware configuration.
Industry Certification is a plus: Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT).
