Question

Personal Nameservers

We have a reseller account that provides anonymous nameservers but would really like our own. Our hosting company charges £80 for personal nameservers.

Is there anyway around this?

Thanks

This post made me curious...

What is the going rate for nameservers? I mean do hosts even offer that as a seperate service?

Thanks.
Mike.

Nameservers shouldn't cost anything. Its basically just 2 IP addresses and a few DNS entries and its done.

Do you manage your own name servers? (Actaul servers, not aliased or scripted NSs that you can do with some CP's). If you did, this opinion would change.

Well i think we're talking about shared nameservers here. Those shouldn't be a $30 or whatever some hosts charge setup fee.

Is there anyone who has the service for about $30/year or about it?

I know someone that uses zoneedit but they charge $3-$5 per domain for more than 5 domains.
