I would look at server matrix. They offer good servers and excellent support with 10MBPS or 100MBPS for only $10 more monthly. (which would be better for large files).

They also offer servers with 1TB and 2TB plans.

    ummm...

    HD: 60-80gb
    Cpanel
    Unix/Linux
Processor: anything tat can handel large files without crashing....

i have a question... when ppl say "10mbps of bw" what does tat mean?

"10mbps of bw" == 10 megabits of bandwidth. That simply means how mcuh data can be put through the connection before it is maxed out (the connection can not send anymore at the same time). Keep in mind, this is measured in bits, and not bytes. 1 byte = 8 bits. However, to make things more confusing, most download managers show the speed in bytes.

so let me put it into simpler form and check if i got it right...
    1byte = 8bit
so 8mbit=1 megabyte---- 10mbit means you can put through about 1.2MB/s maximum, meaning.. 10 users download at 120Kb/s, 20 at 60KB/s, 40 at 30KB/s and so on.

    No no..

    1 TB = 1024GB
    1 GB = 1024MB
    1 1MB = 1024KB
    1 KB = 1024Bytes
    1 Byte = 8Bits

10mbps is the connections maximum acheivable bandwidth, meaning if you pushed that 10mbps 24/7 for a month you'd get roughly 3.24gb of transfer (i think )

But anyway, not to be nosy opanime, but im guessing cause of the name you'll be using this server for an anime site? Cause if your gonna use it for what i think you are (media server), before you buy anything, make sure your not gonna be violating any terms of service or acceptable use policies. Or better yet talk to other webmasters in the community who've used or are using a dedicated server for the same purpose and ask who they're using.

If im wrong, then please disregard this post opanime.

Call ServerMatrix sales - (800) 377-6103 and see what they can do for you. They have extremely good ticket/phone support in my opinion.

    A litte correction, when measuring rate, 1Kbit is 1000 bits, not 1024. 1Mbit is 1000Kbit, not 1024.

I am not sure if toll free for Canada since I live in the United States myself . If you don't want to call them, you can visit their website and e-mail them requesting price quotes.

    Regards,

    No, this is not right.

10 users would download at 120KB/s.
