I know that there is already a thread regarding Dathorn.com, but can anyone provide me with some information regarding Dathorn as a company or it's owner Andrew Thornton? Any information is great. Thanks a lot.
who is Andrew? Why is the domain registered to what looks like a residential address? how long has he/dathorn been in business? i guess i just like to know who i am dealing with.. what kind of people... anything before i do business with them.
Well, I signed up a month ago and unfortunately got thrown on a machine that had nothing but DoS attacks. I quickly canceled my account after 48 hours of not getting access to my WHM or site. Out of fairness, Andrew did give a prompt response and refund my entire payment.
Dathorn has the reputation of handling reselling newbs a bit hard. I heard the attitude problem has dropped slightly but the company hasn't been in the headlines as much lately to know. I knew this walking into the company because I knew how to use a reseller account but I could definitely see how newbie resellers could get frustrated.
As far as the domain name or how long Dathorn has been in business, I have no clue. I heard it has been awhile though. Dathorn is definitely not a company you would suspect that would close up shop and run off your money in a month. I'd give them a try if their DoS attack issues are cleared up.
Well let see here, I am Andrew Thornton, the president of the company. We've recently hired many new staff members and have improved several things over what they were, including our current move out of an older datacenter for two of our servers. We're definetly here for the long run and come this summer we will have been offering our services online for over 2 years. The (D)DoS problems that occured on the server in which Pricyber was one subsided a little over 2 weeks ago and we haven't had problems since. Previous to that it had been several months with no real network related problems. However, these kind of things happen and we do our best to deal with them as quickly and correctly as possible. If I had six thumbs, I would point them ALL down for dathorn.com. But since I only have 2, they get two thumbs down.
I was a customer there for about a year or so. I left... and so did others.
Andrew can be a 'prick' at times. It is HIS way or NO way. If you don't like how HE does things, he doesn't care. Basically, what I am saying is the customer service sucked. And with his "I care less about your thoughts" attitude, if there were not any server problems, FINE..... but with his attitude, you also had problems.
in fairness to Andrew and other, he was harsh at times... but surprisely he has taken everyones advice and I havenoticed he is very pleasant to deal with on ALL levels of support and even on this borad now..
