    windows mail server help

    Hello all,
I have a testing server setup on my local machine, with apahce, mysql, and php.

I wanted to setup a mail server, so I went and downloaded the standard version of mail enable.

I am using Zonedit to handle my dns, so after installing the mail server, I went to zone edit and added the following:

a record: mail.biovelocity.us set to my ip

mx record: mail.biovelocity.us to handle mail 1st for biovelocity.us

I can recieve mail just fine, but when I send out an email i get it returned saying this:
MailEnable: Message delivery has been delayed.

Message is waiting at biovelocity.us for delivery to biovelocity.com.

Reason: Mail Server for biovelocity.com could not be contacted at this time. MailEnable will keep trying to deliver this message and will notify you of any progress.

Any help would be greatly apprecieated.

Your mail hasn't been 'returned' because it hasn't been delivered yet. Does your mail server know how to reach the outside world? (biovelocity.com mailserver does appear to be up)

I am not sure. How would I set it up to know how to reach the outside world?

And yes biovelocity.com is up and has been up.

I know its something I am doing wrong

Not having any experience of MailEnable I can't answer that, perhaps your ISP is blocking port 25?

    I figured it out!

I had to set the dns server to my isp's dns server.

    Works like a charm!
