I have had experience with ModernBill+Authorize.net, it worked out great (I used e-onlinedata). I soon came to realize that we were paying $35/mo to them regardless of the processing fees, and then $0.30/transaction and 2.2% I believe...
I was wondering, does anyone have anything to suggest instead?
Just took a look at 2Checkout and it's $50 setup fee (which is no problem) but the 5.5% seemed a bit high for me.
It is possible to get setup with a merchant account that does not have a $25/month minimum fee. That might solve your problem right there. There are a number of options available in the market that can do exactly that. (i.e. "best of both worlds" that way)
But, what kind of processing volume are you doing monthly?
If you are doing a very low amount of volume, a 3rd party processor may be a better match - even at a higher %.
And if you are doing steady but growing volume, a merchant account is usually the better solution for more than one reason.

Does 2checkout log IPs?
If they do, any other tools to help detect fraud?
Also, are there any merchant account providers that wont charge the $30 or so monthly minimum? Are there any that will only charge the $0.35 or so per transaction and plus the percentage from each transaction?
Check out www.merchantwarehouse.com and talk to Bill Reamer. He gave us a rate of 2.09% + .30 and $9.95 mo statement. We also bought the PC Charge Express (PRO version = recurring billing). Might be worthwhile

yes but Ikobo also have terrible customer serivce. I used them for about a week and i lost over 50 sales becuase my customers just couldnt be bothered to send in all the paper work needed to send money.
Why fax loads of documents when they can use someone else that just require the standard order information.
