New Dedicated server provider in Netherlands

INTRODUCTION

We are a starting company with personel that have lots of experience in Dedicated server hosting trough the years.

We want to compete with Iracks.org

I REMOVED ALL INFORMATION SINCE NO PROMOTION IS ALLOWED.

My question: What would be the wishes of future clients regarding:

- Extra services
- Payments (lower monthly or lower setup fees) ways to pay etc.
- Connections
- Support

And every other thing you can think of.

We need your feedback, its appreciated !

Thank you again for your reply. As we are starting we would first like to see what end users want before we start offering the services in public on our website.

Does anyone favourite AMD above Intel for example and why? since Iracks.org seem to go for Duron and Athlon where we mosly would like to go for Intel Celeron and Pentium-IV series.

I am aware that AMD models are cheaper for us to buy however

Hello.

GO with Athlon/P4

Skip celeron out of the picture.

Also as competition with Iracks Duron model?

If you can choose between Duron 1800+ (1.2 ghz) or a Intel Celeron 2000 against the same price and options what would then be your choice?

a Celeron if that was the only two choices you had.

I would likely spend $20-$30 more on a P4 or athlon though.

Like Iracks we would like to have a cheap model, two medium classed models and one "high" end models.

Our cheap model can either be a Athlon 2600 PRO or a Celeron 2000. In my opinion both beat the Duron 1800+

Hey dude, many people like Athlon, this is due to the price for the performance you get, however it does depend on what the server will be used for, the chances are if someone is looking for an extensive use of database, they may ask for a Pentium 4 2.53 and above with 800FSB, just for the extra FSB - however many will not pay the extra $30 a month for a pentium than an Athlon which works just as well!

May I ask you why you would like to compete with iracks? Does iracks have no competition, or is the european market big?

iRacks started bad, this still gives them a bad name, they still have a ad name and sometimes it increases, they treat clients differently depending on the money you spend, and depends how they are feeling the day they are helping you/giving support

(This is what I have gathered from a few posts about iRacks)

However, to compete with them it seems silly, in the words of me:

"Fsck being cheap"
"Fsck anyone who is looking for cheap"
"Give quality services - no matter the cost to you/clients"
"Get Quality clients/name!"

Regards

I think Athlon 64 servers would be a good fit. They are very fast, consume VERY little power on small loads(Cool n Quiet) , support 64-bit operating systems and have an attractive price. You can get a Athlon 64 3000+ for ~$200 now, and rumours of a 2800+ version should bring prices further down. There are some pretty inexpensive Socket 754 motherboards on the market as well.

And the 800FSB, 1MB cache and on board memory controller plays any decent part in making the Athlon64 amasing
