Hello,
What I want to do is run a private Direct Connect hub
(neo-modus.com)
Therefore I need to be able to install applications on the server,
What would you suggest? note disk space is not really an issue less than 1GB, but bandwidth should be at least 30GB/mo
Ive seen these vps packages
canaca.com/virtual.html
memset.com/miniserver.php?show=all&PHPSESSID=5b7cc931f5df7fc9f9fece0db1351736
adiungo.com/vps/
Also any idea on a good Direct Connect hub software to use on a linux OS (i.e easy)
Many Thanks

I would suggest you contact the above VPS providers and a few more and get a feel of their responses

make sure you read the providers terms of service - it depends on who is going to access your dc hub and what files are going to be moved. some providers might not allow you to do it...
just thought i'd point it out so you don't get in trouble with whoever you choose further down the line.

Thanks retep that link looks useful, and thanks to ca-uk for the terms of use, I will look into that! I have looked at opendchub there is also VerliHub!?!
What would you go for? Baring in mind the VPS sites I put on this thread are all between 4 dollars - £19 (32 Dolloars)?
Note: Space isn't important, bandwidth is, looking in the region of 5GB min a day!!
Is there any guides out there to show you how to install programs on a linux machine on a VPS?
Many Thanks

5GB a day is a lot of bandwith for a VPS account . I would talk to the providers about your needs and see what they can work out for you.
As for installing software on a VPS : try and stay away from things that require kernel modifications as you then normally have to get the provider involved ; otherwise its all good.

I was thinking of maybe using 'wine' on the vp server, this way I could run Yoshi yHub,
Ive installed wine on my redhat 8.0 machine and am having great difficulty in getting it to work, is there a very, very, very basic guide to do this for RH 8.0 anywhere?
Ive decided to go with adiungo.com/vps/
as they seem to be very helpful.
Many Thanks

Why not just get a Windows VPS then?

As this thread is over two years old, I am sure the thread starter has been fixed up by now. Closed.
