Hi,

When i start APF, i get following.

# /usr/local/sbin/apf --start
iptables: No chain/target/match by that name
iptables: No chain/target/match by that name
iptables: No chain/target/match by that name

Anything wrong with my installation ?

have you added any extra tables? what version apf?

Version is 0.9.3_3

result of iptables -L is available at

check /var/log/messages while starting apf. It uses the iptables kernel module UNCLEAN which is not in many kernels.

Got following error message in /var/log/messages

Feb 23 05:24:29 server2 modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module ipt_unclean
Feb 23 05:24:29 server2 last message repeated 2 times

It seems ipt_unclean not in my kernal.

What should i do ? Will this affect working of APF ?

Here is a proceedure to compile it. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

cd /usr/src/linux
make menuconfig
*Select Network Options, IP Netfilter Configuration. Scroll down to "Unclean Match Support". Press "M" to compile it as a module. Tab to exit and press return. Tab to exit again and press return. Tab to exit a 3rd time and press return. Press return to save your kernel.*
make dep
make modules
make modules_install

*restart apf*
