Talking

Managing user names and passwords

Hello

I have lots of user name and passwords that I have to keep track of. Right now I’m writing them down.
Is there a software that I can use to save all the passwords and user names, something that will keep it secure and encrypted?

What techniques or methods should one use to deal with this problem.

Thanks you

have you considered keeping a regular database inside an encrypted space on your hard drive?

database could be Access, for example.

encrypted space could be Cryptainer http://cypherix.com/
or Safehouse http://www.pcdynamics.com/SafeHouse/

I suppose you could move the encrypted 'volume' onto a
USB pen drive, and open it from there, giving you portability
and the ability to remove it.

Hi,

There are three concerns about safe and secure:

1. Local Physical Area - people around you and your working area. They may see your information where you keep.

2. Local LAN - people sharing your LAN.

3. Internet - people connect with the Internet.

If you just keep hard copies, the only concern is #1

Best regards
